海外传来好消息!中国“基建狂魔”新成绩

当地时间10月16日,肯尼亚内罗毕-马拉巴标轨铁路(内马铁路)一期工程正式建成通车。

据报道,内马铁路起点位于首都内罗毕,终点位于肯尼亚西部边境城镇马拉巴。内马铁路是蒙内铁路(蒙巴萨-内罗毕标准轨铁路)的延长线,正线里程全长约487.5公里,项目建设分三期实施,本次通车的这条线路从肯尼亚首都内罗毕开往奈瓦沙,全长120公里

According to Kanze Dena, spokeswoman for the President's office, SGR's second phase has four terminals and its trains will operate three times a day.

"As it is being launched today, tomorrow passengers are able to use the trains. There will be a train moving from Ngong station to Rongai, Mai Mahiu and Suswa. And another one coming from the other direction back to Ngong," Dena told CNN.

Kenyans are reported to pay between 50 Kenyan shillings (about 0.48 U.S. dollars) and a dollar to use the service from Nairobi to Suswa on economy class.

据报道,从内罗毕到苏斯瓦的经济舱票价从50肯尼亚先令(人民币约3.4元)到1美元(7.1元)不等。

On the other hand, those using first class will part with a dollar to 6 dollars depending on the distance.

Passengers from Ngong and Rongai will spend between 23 and 40 minutes to reach Nairobi and vice versa, cutting commuter time by about an hour.

Using matatu, Kenya's commuter minibuses, residents spend up to two hours in traffic jams during peak morning and evening hours.

"Our cries have finally been heard, 40 minutes from Ngong to Nairobi, I cannot wait to use the train," said Mathew Kimiti, who works in the city center.

Everyday, he leaves his house by 5:30 a.m. in a bid to try and beat massive traffic jams on the road to arrive at work on time.

The railway was built by a Chinese construction company, China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and cost $1.5 billion, according to Musembi Mumo, director of Kenya Railway.

"The rail project is happening in stages. Phase one was funded and completed and phase two has now been completed. The funding was from the Exim Bank of China," Mumo said.

Mumo提到的一期铁路就是蒙内铁路(蒙巴萨-内罗毕标准轨铁路),也是一条“中国制造”的铁路。

据新华社报道,蒙内铁路2017年建成通车,全场约480公里,连接肯尼亚首都内罗毕和海港城市蒙巴萨,是肯尼亚独立以来的首条新铁路,是一条采用中国标准、中国技术、中国装备建造的现代化铁路。

Mumo says in the last two years, it has been operating on a daily schedule and has moved up to 2 million passengers. "We are also targeting 10 million tons for cargo" per year, he added.
